Libpool top ‘ the league, Libpool, Libpool top ‘ the league. The Reds will enter a new decade as division leaders, 13 points clear of Leicester City in second with a game in hand over the Foxes, Manchester City are somewhere below there – who cares? With history awaiting Jürgen Klopp’s men, Adam Lallana has insisted that the Premier League title will be a squad effort.

Lallana has been hounded by injuries since arriving at Anfield in 2014 in a £25m deal. With his current contract set to expire in the summer, common consensus is that the England international will be allowed to leave on a free.

Fingers crossed Adam Lallana will leave as a Premier League champion, the 31-year-old stressed the importance of the whole squad when he told the club site:

“It’s a squad game and I’ve said before that we’re going to need everybody. We’ve got a few injuries at the time being and three or four kids on the bench, it’s a great experience for them being involved and so close to what’s been a special season so far. It’s important we recover because we’ve had a few injuries and it’s important that we get everybody back fit as quickly as possible.”

What RTK has to say

Adam Lallana will be crucial to us winning the Premier League, he is right – we will need every member of our squad fit and focused for the remainder of the season. The condition and mentality of our backup stars is vital to our success.

We saw Lallana put in a bright performance against Wolves last weekend, he was unlucky not to have bagged an assist and once again his work rate can’t be questioned. The England midfielder has been unlucky whilst at Anfield but he has always given us his all, he deserves this as much as anybody.
