Liverpool have enjoyed an epic 2019 under Jurgen Klopp.

The 52-year-old German led the club to a sixth European Cup win and appears on course to ending our long wait for a league title.

Each and every first team player has been immense for the Reds throughout the year.

However, without these three standout Liverpool players none of our success would have been possible.

Since joining Liverpool in 2018 Virgil Van Dijk has literally solved all our problems. During 2019 he has taken his game to the next level and made our £75m outlay look an absolute bargain. Despite the constant reshuffling of our defensive line he has remained ever present and shown himself capable of playing well alongside anyone. Not only that, he actually brings on the players around him who seem to elevate themselves to his level. Van Dijk has been a key driving forced behind our success this year and was unfortunate to finish second overall in the Ballon d’Or listings.

Our Brazilian midfielder endured a tricky time at the start of his Liverpool career. However, 2019 has saw Fabinho establish himself as one of the first names on the team sheet and as the Premier Leagues best defensive midfielder. What this man brings to our team cannot be overstated. He is the glue that holds everything together. Fabinho breaks up our opponents attacks and begins ours. The Brazil international even scored a belter against Manchester City, he just had to make the list.

The 27-year-old Senegal international has enjoyed the best year of his footballing career. Sadio Mane has been the catalyst for all that is good for Klopps side. Over a 12-month period he has been the go-to man when Liverpool need goals. He finished last year as the Premier Leagues joint top scorer with 22 goals. Mane is on course to do even better this season having 13 goals in the league to his name already. Not only has he been one of Liverpool’s best players, he’s been one of the worlds best too finishing fourth overall in the Ballon d’Or.
