Wednesday night was a landmark victory for the Reds. Jürgen Klopp’s men absolutely battered their Stanley Park neighbours, pasting Everton 5-2 at Anfield. Liverpool had a number of stand out performers in the game but perhaps none more so than Sadio Mane. Danny Murphy believes that Sadio Mane has overtaken Mo Salah at Anfield.

Jürgen Klopp’s top scorer this season was in emphatic form against Everton, laying on two goals and bagging one for himself. Ex-Liverpool midfielder Murphy commented on the Senegalese forward’s performance on Match of the Day:
“The man up front Mane, he was exceptional, he’s been phenomenal this season, probably the best player for me in the Premier League this season…he plays with such hunger…He’s become the main main for Liverpool, they rely on him a lot now, he’s overtaken Salah with that responsibility…just an absolutely phenomenal performance.”
What RTK has to say
There can be no doubt that Sadio Mane has overtaken Mo Salah at Liverpool. The Senegalese forward has been in emphatic form this season, never letting his manager or side down and constantly rescuing us when we needed him.
The performance against Everton was just further evidence of Mane’s supremacy at the moment, he was impossible to handle for the Blues defence.
There were a number of occasions when the Toffees just tried to bring him down but such is his strength and pace, he just knocked the ball away and outpaced the opposition.
Mo Salah may recover his form soon but right now there can be no question that he is no longer our most reliable attacker.
