This January transfer window could be an important one for Liverpool. The Reds are chasing a first league title in 30 years and are in a strong position to retain the Champions League. The squad may be unbeatable but it is undeniably stretched thin in certain areas. With the Reds linked with every man and his dog, one paper is now insisting that there is one player we aren’t going for. The Star have reported claims that Liverpool will not move for Timo Werner after landing Takumi Minamino.

The Reds have long been linked with a move for Werner. The German forward has been garnering interest from all over the continent.
The 23-year-old has been in sensational form this season, bagging 18 goals in just 16 Bundesliga appearances, he has also picked up five assists along the way. Werner has also impressed in Europe, netting three in five in the Champions League.
Liverpool recently announced the January arrival of Takumi Minamino. With the Japanese attacking midfielder set to arrive in the New Year, the Star have reported that the Reds won’t seek to make anymore attacking additions.
What RTK has to say
This is a tricky one. If Liverpool are able to sign Timo Werner then they probably should – 18 goals in 16 games is downright ridiculous.
There is also the consideration that Werner and Minamino don’t play exactly the same position, the Japanese plays as an aggressive attacking midfielder whilst the German is a traditional number nine (sometimes operating on the wing).
One thing that we can be certain of is that the Reds will make the right call. We have an absolute blind faith in Michael Edwards and his team.
