The Japanese attacking midfielder will join the Reds on January 1st. Michael Edwards once again cemented his place in Anfield folklore by negotiating a move worth a paltry £7.25m – paying off the miniscule release clause in the player’s contract.

Kopites are well aware of the player’s abilities, he ran us ragged in the Champions League group stage – scoring at Anfield in October.

His work rate, dribbling ability and technique make him an ideal Jürgen Klopp signing, we simply cannot wait to see the lad in action at Anfield…again.

With the signing going through on the 1st of January, Minamino is being tipped to make his debut against Everton in the FA Cup just a few days later.

Kopites have taken to Twitter to discuss Liverpool announcing their signing of Minamino.

Fans have already been doing their best to make the lad feel welcome, wanting to greet him in his own mother tongue.

He will be adding a vital rotation option for our front three, giving us real quality in depth.

One Kopite is looking forward to the Japanese midfielder announcing himself in the Merseyside Derby, can he emulate Virgil van Dijk?

Minamino will be taking a squad number previously worn by some icons of the club.

Questions are already being asked about just how Scouse we will go with the Minamino pronunciation.

And of course, with the new Liverpool Nike deal set to be announced in the near future, we could make our money back from the buy in no time.
