This weekend saw another Mo Salah masterclass. The Egyptian King was at his best once again with two goals that highlighted his phenomenal ability in two very different ways. Jamie Redknapp has praised the “individual genius” of Mo Salah after his brace against Watford.
It was a hard fought victory for the Reds at the weekend. The Hornets were galvanised by the appointment of Nigel Pearson; defending resolutely and countering bravely. On another day the North of London side could have been three goals up at half time.
The difference between the sides was Mo Salah. The Egyptian King rounded off an incisive Reds counter when he cut inside and bent the ball past Ben Foster with his right foot. With time running out and the game on a knife edge, Salah secured the victory with a bright flick from close range, nutmegging the Watford defender.
Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column:
“You will not see a cheekier goal scored this season than that by Mohamed Salah against Watford. It was such quick thinking to go for the back-heel and send it through the legs of Christian Kabasele. That was a moment of sheer individual genius but the beauty of Liverpool is the way the entire team work together.”
What RTK has to say
Jamie Redknapp isn’t the only pundit to heap praise on Mo Salah in the last week. The Egyptian has been the media darling lately after a few scintillating goals.
Before his impressive brace against Watford we saw Mo slot home from an impossible angle with his weak foot against Red Bull Salzburg.
With the forward’s form having dipped at points this season, it seems as though our talismanic winger is hitting a purple patch at just the right time.
