Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp should bench Naby Keita this weekend.

The Reds face Watford, who are currently sitting bottom of the Premier League table.

On paper, it sounds the perfect game to keep the Guinea internationals great form going.

However,  he should come out of the Liverpool starting line-up on Saturday.

Despite coming to Anfield highly touted and for a hefty price tag, Keita has failed to live up to expectations. Several injuries have meant he has failed to get a consistent run in Klopp’s side during his 18-month stint at the club.

This week Keita has finally started to show exactly what he is capable of. He was a surprise starter against Bournemouth. During the match he scored a goal and assisted another one. In mid-week he again got on the score sheet. Liverpool faced a tricky trip to RB Salzburg and needed a performance to ensure progression in the Champions League. Keita opened the scoring on route to a 2-0 win at the Red Bull arena.

Now is the time to take Keita out of the team and this is not a bad thing at all. He is now a real useful player to have and we want him fit. With his injury problems at the top of Liverpool fans mind, it wouldn’t be smart to try play him three times in a week.

Klopp has been rotating his squad masterfully over since the start of the month. It’s so important to keep our team and especially the midfield fresh as best we can.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out of the team for the past couple of games despite some fine form himself. Bringing him back into the match will inject fresh legs and massive determination into our team against Watford. Something we’ll definitely need as the Premier Leagues bottom side are sure to show up with new manger Nigel Pearson taking charge of his first game.
