Liverpool have yet again made it into the Champions League last 16 draw. The Reds bested Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday night to secure top spot in the group and a place in the next round. With some deadly opposition finishing second in their group, we name the two teams that we feel Liverpool would want to avoid in the Champions League draw.

Atletico Madrid – Spain
It is just horrible playing Atletico. They are a proper football team. They are typically resolute in defence, though their back line is definitely feeling the departure of Diego Godin.
The Everton of Madrid are currently languishing in seventh place in La Liga. There have been rumours of a “divorce” between Atleti and Diego Simeone.
Despite the side’s faltering form they are always a dangerous side to face in a two legged competition. However, the Reds would have the advantage of knowing the turf at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Joao Felix is a rising star that could pull a big game out of nowhere. Fingers crossed Big Virgil van Dijk would be able to deal with Big But Fragile Alvaro Morata.
Borussia Dortmund – Germany
The German side came through a tricky group that included Barcelona and Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan. Currently third in the German Bundesliga – five points off Borussia Monchengladbach in first – Jürgen Klopp’s former side are still a massive threat despite finishing second in their group.
We know all about the danger of this club in Europe. We needed a late winner from Dejan Lovren to beat them in the Europa League in 2016.
It may not be the same squad as three years ago but it is the same club, the same determined mentality. We’d much rather another club deals with the German giants.
