This Saturday sees Liverpool take on Watford in what is sure to be one of our most one sided contests of the season. The Reds are flying high at the top of the table whilst the Hornets are staring relegation in the face in 20th place. With Jürgen Klopp’s men entering the game high off three impressive victories, this should be a walk in the park. Saturday could be the ideal time for Curtis Jones to make his first Premier League start.

The Reds have a hectic December Schedule ahead of them. On Saturday they play Watford in the Premier League, on Tuesday they play Aston Villa in the League Cup, on Wednesday they play in the Club World Cup semi final.

Rotation will be necessary for these games, with Jürgen Klopp’s men having already played three times since last Wednesday, we need to keep our stars rested for the tougher games ahead.

Against Bournemouth last weekend we saw Jones come on for the last 15 minutes or so as the Reds led 3-0. The Scouser looked assured and confident, his passing was crisp and he found himself in dangerous areas.

If we opt for a 4-2-3-1 against the Hornets then Curtis Jones could make his first Premier League start alongside James Milner at the base of midfield.

If the Scouser plays then we can rest Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson whilst also giving a youth prospect valuable first team experience. There has never been a better time for the lad to step up and playing alongside James Milner will give him the experienced partner he needs for the game.
