Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson is the man to directly replace Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds sold the Brazil international to Barcelona for £142m in January 2018.

Since then we have looked better than ever but lost a certain something in midfield.

Jurgen Klopp has never replaced Coutinho and Wilson could well be the reason for that.

The 22-year-old Welshman is currently on loan at Premier League side Bournemouth.

This weekend he came of the bench against Tottenham and tipped the game on its head.

Jose Morinho’s side had let 3-0 but Wilson’s introduction with 30 minutes remaining changed everything.

The Reds midfielder scored twice as “The Cherries” mounted a serious attempt at a comeback. However, it wasn’t to be, and Spurs ran out 3-2 winners at their new stadium.

Wilsons impressive cameo typified his form throughout the season. He has looked sensational for Eddie Howe’s side, scoring six goals in 13 appearances.

The manner of which lead me to believe he is the man to finally fill the void left by Coutinho.

Since losing the Brazil midfielder Liverpool have lacked a player who can score outrageous goals from outside the area on a frequent basis. Lucky for us that is Wilson’s bread and butter.

Yesterday he scored a beautiful free-kick to get his side on the score sheet. However, it not the first time he has done it this season. Wilson did exactly the same thing when Bournemouth played Manchester City in August.

Wilson is not just a free-kick specialist though don’t be mistaken. He is a true menace anywhere around the opposition box. The Welsh prospect has the ability to make things happen for his teammates but is not afraid to take on the responsibility himself.

Harry Wilson will hopefully return to Liverpool next season and earn a place in the first team. Once he does you’ll see exactly why he is the man to fill the void left by Philippe Coutinho.
