Alisson performed superbly and his red card was necessary, we can’t fault him for it.

Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9

Two first half assists for the Scouser, he showed just how vital he is to the side.

Centre back: Virgil van Dijk – 10

I mean, come on. A first half brace, infalible at the back. He deserves his perfect score in our Liverpool player ratings against Brighton.

Centre back: Dejan Lovren – 8.5

Solid at the back, he looks like a new man next to Van Dijk.

Left back: Andy Robertson – 9

Andy Robbo did as Andy Robbo does, he worked his socks off and was as good offensively as he was defensively.

Defensive midfield: Jordan Henderson – 8.5

Reliable as ever in possession, his pressing was top quality too.

Gini does his job efficiently and without fuss. You can’t fault him.

Centre midfield: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 9

The Ox has breathed new life into the midfield, he used the ball quickly and with purpose.

Right wing: Mo Salah – 6

Mo is far from his best and could likely do with another week or so to fully rest up and come back fighting.

Striker: Bobby Firmino – 8

Bobby was creative and determined as ever. Unlucky to finish the game without a goal for the 11th consecutive time at Anfield.

Left wing: Sadio Mane – 9

It was a stellar performance from the tenacious Sadio Mane, he deserved a goal for his industry and vision.
