Wednesday night saw Liverpool held by Napoli to a 1-1 draw at Anfield. The Reds went 1-0 down in the first half after Dries Mertens fouled Virgil van Dijk and went on to slot past Alisson with the Dutchman down in the centre circle. Dejan Lovren equalised with a header from a corner in the second half. One of the main talking points in the game was a first half Fabinho injury.
The Brazilian limped off the pitch after 19 minutes. His long legs were caught under a Napoli player as he went down and the midfielder was visibly in awful pain immediately.
After trying to battle on for a couple of minutes, Jürgen Klopp withdrew the interceptor and replaced him with Gini Wijnaldum – a change that we were never prepared to make.
The extent of the Fabinho injury is yet to be revealed, the Liverpool staff and Kopites at large will be sweating over the results over an imminent scan.
After the game, Twitter reacted to the nightmare that is the Fabinho injury.
James Pearce noted that the Brazilian was unavailable for the weekend but is desperate to have him back for the derby.
That’s a blow. Fabinho off injured and heads straight down the tunnel. Banned for the weekend anyway. Klopp will be desperate to have him back for next week’s Merseyside derby #LFC

Leanne Prescott believes that Fabby is irreplaceable in this Liverpool side at the moment and hopes that the staff were erring on the side of caution.
Fabinho one of, if not the most important player in this Liverpool side right now. No point risking further damage by continuing – hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

Another supporter insisted that our midfield is nothing without the ball winner.
Fabinho is so so clear man, midfield looked dusted without him.

Whilst local hero Mike Kearney was aggravated to say the least.
Going to fucking burst somebody if Fabinho is injured for more than a week mates.
