This Wednesday marks a pivotal game for Liverpool’s season. The Reds take on Napoli at Anfield in a clash that could prove crucial to both our domestic and continental campaigns. If the home side win then they will guarantee top spot in the group; this will allow players to be rested for the final group stage game against Red Bull Salzburg. The visitors are out of sorts at the moment but Jürgen Klopp is still wary of the Napoli threat.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, broadcast on the club’s official site, when asked about the Italian’s poor form and internal issues, the gaffer replied:

“It is a different competition, they feel a kind of relief that they can play completely free in a game like this…What we expect is that it will make them stronger. If I was part of the team as a player, I would try to bring the group together. Carlo is the most experienced manager in world football and he is used to dealing with difficult situations. He will make the best of it 100%.”

What RTK has to say

Jürgen Klopp is clearly still respectful of Napoli despite the fact that they are without a win in six games. In fact, their last win came in this competition at the end of October when they beat Red Bull Salzburg 3-2 in Austria.

However, as Jürgen pointed out, Carlo Ancelotti is a manager with heaps of experience. The Italian legend has endured sticky periods throughout his illustrious career and is sure to get things back on track. The last place they would have wanted to come in an effort to recover their form is Anfield. We just have to keep them waiting for a win.
