Liverpool left back Andy Robertson needs to be rested during the game against Napoli. The 25-year-old wing-back has been struggling for fitness of late due to an ankle injury.
Robertson was forced to withdraw from Scotland international duty and was a serious doubt to play against Crystal Palace.
The left-back played but is still nursing an injury and must not be risked on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Goal, he said. “It is still painful, but you know. It is something that I gave time for it to improve. Keeping it moving will help it, and hopefully in time it will be better.
“I was desperate to play, and the gaffer asked me if I was okay, I believed I was and luckily I got through the game.”

The Reds are seriously lacking depth in the left back position.
Liverpool rely on veteran midfielder James Milner to fill in when needed and he does an impressive job when called upon.
However, beyond the 33-year-old Jurgen Klopp is short of options and cannot afford to lose the flying Scotsman.
Liverpool’s full-backs are pivotal to the success we have enjoyed this season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson play a huge role, they must stay fit to guarantee our success. The duo are just as important to the team as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Andy Robertson needs to be rested to ensure he fully heels up in time for the busy Christmas period ahead.
