The Liverpool midfield has been stagnant for a lot of this season. The Reds have relied on the creativity of their full backs and the brilliance of their front line. The middle three have more often than not been more crucial in a defensive aspect. However, in games where opposition are sitting deep against the Reds, a creative spark is needed. Steve McMahon urged Liverpool to sign James Maddison earlier this season in order to provide that spark.
The Leicester City midfielder has flourished under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers. The Foxes currently sit second in the Premier League, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference, both the sides are eight points behind leaders Liverpool.
Maddison has been crucial to his team’s success this season, contributing four goals and two assists in 11 games in the league. He has found his best form under Rodgers, much like Philippe Coutinho did.
The Leicester star tweeted today praising Reds midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Kopites wasted no time in getting excited about the pair linking up at club level.
Maddison spoke highly of The Ox’s character in response to a video about the 26-year-old.
This video sums him up as a guy. Right out the top draw 🤝 https://t.co/QXyi63cD87

Whereas this Kopite believes the tweet means it’s only a matter of time before Liverpool sign Maddison.
