Liverpool’s front three need cover. Whilst Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are undroppable, they will only be able to play to the best of their abilities if they are allowed time to properly rest and recharge. According to reports in SportBild, Liverpool are planning a bid for Ferran Torres.
Of course, Kopites love a Torres. The Anfield faithful had a love affair with Fernando when he arrived from Atletico Madrid, a bond that is unlikely to be seen again for a while. Ferran Torres currently plies his trade at Valencia, having come through their youth academy.
The Spain U21 international plays on the right wing for the Spanish side and has been gaining quite a reputation since breaking into the Los Ches first team aged 17. He also gained notoriety after scoring both goals for Spain as they won 2-0 in the U19s Euros final.
Should Liverpool bid for Ferran Torres? With Jürgen Klopp so desperate for cover for the front three, the Spaniard could be an excellent signing. He moves the ball well, has an eye for a pass and most importantly – he’s young.
The fact that Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and other European giants are rumoured to be interested in the winger is testament to his ability. No matter the outcome of this one, Michael Edwards and co will make the right choice, if we want him, we will likely get him.
