Liverpool have one of the most valuable squads in the world. According to Transfermarkt, the Reds squad is the fourth most valuable, with talismanic forward Mo Salah rated at £135m. Given the obvious talent in the side, it is no surprise that Europe’s biggest sides take interest from time to time. According to a report in Tuttosport, Juventus have scouted Mo Salah.
The Italian giants are undergoing a massive rebuild at the minute, bringing in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt in recent seasons. It looks as though they aren’t done yet as Tuttosport have reported that the Turin side sent scouts to the Liverpool v Spurs game at the weekend, with a focus on Mo Salah and Heung Min Son.
In the last decade and a half Liverpool have sold their biggest talents. Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho were all moved on for a profit. However, the money from their sales were more often than not used wisely. The Torres money funded the Suarez buy. The Coutinho money funded Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
Whilst the Reds have no reason to sell Mo Salah to Juventus, if they did it would be for an astronomical fee that would likely be reinvested wisely. Kopites should have a blind faith in the transfer policy of Michael Edwards and Jürgen Klopp at the minute, they haven’t made a bad signing in years. For a time it looked as though Marko Grujic would have been their only flop but now he is putting in stellar performances in the Bundesliga, staking his claim for a place in Klopp’s midfield next season.
Whilst Juventus may have scouted Mo Salah, he doesn’t want to leave and we wouldn’t want to sell. If we ever did sell, just imagine the players we’d replace him with.
