Three players who must start Liverpool's Carabao Cup tie against Arsenal

Liverpool finally have the squad depth to compete on all fronts. As a result, Jurgen Klopp is likely to rotate his side for tonight’s Carabao Cup tie against Arsenal at Anfield.

The Liverpool fringe players will be desperate for the chance to start for the Reds. And three men in particular simply must play against the Gunners.

Liverpool need to play Joe Gomez at every possible opportunity. The 22-year-old is reportedly unhappy at his reduced role and attracting interest from our Premier League rivals.

Klopp’s once preferred option to partner Virgil Van Dijk has now been demoted to fourth choice centre-back. Liverpool should re-introduce him from the start against Arsenal this Wednesday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looked spectacular last week in Genk. The Liverpool midfielder scored twice as Klopp’s side claimed back-to-back wins in the Champions League.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was unlucky to miss out when Liverpool hosted Tottenham on Sunday. He simply must play against his former side.

Liverpool fans are excited to see Harvey Elliott again. The 16-year-old continues to impress in youth football and will hope to make a second senior appearance against Arsenal.

Elliott’s debut came in the third round tie against MK Dons and he was one of the best players on the pitch. The cup competitions provide Liverpool’s prospects with a rare opportunity at senior football and Klopp must reward Elliott’s impressive form with a start this week.
