Liverpool’s Adam Lallana deserves to start in the Champions League tie against Genk.
The England international was an unlikely hero as the Reds salvaged a late draw at Old Trafford.
Lallana’s first goal since March 2017 has propelled himself back into first team mix.

Liverpool’s squad players need to be rewarded for impressive cameos from the bench. Otherwise we will quickly have a group of demoralised footballers who see no route back into the first team.
In Lallana’s case, injury is the thing that has slowed down his career at Anfield. Before his terrible two years of injury the ex-Southampton man was a key player for Jurgen Klopp.
Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum were all poor against Manchester United.
The Brazilian has rarely looked worse in a Liverpool shirt. Our captain was timid and played safe on every occasion. Whilst Gini Wijnaldum failed to continue the form he showed whilst away with Dutch national side.
No-one should be guaranteed a start at Liverpool. Any of these three midfielders could and should make way for Adam Lallana against Genk.
Liverpool fans often talk about us missing a midfield spark and look outside the club to fix it.
The 34-capped England international is crafty, can drive the ball forward and makes things happen. He could well be the missing link in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.
Liverpool’s Adam Lallana deserves the chance to rectify his career on Merseyside and should be given the chance to by starting tomorrow against Genk.
