Reported Liverpool target (Bild) Kai Havertz is quickly become the most wanted man in football and for good reason.
The 20-year-old midfielder is wanted by Europe’s elite after impressing last season. And Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz had now admitted he is powerless should the player wish to move on.
Speaking to Sports Bild, he said. “Of course I would like to keep him, just as I would have liked to keep Julian Brandt, for example.
“Kai is only 20 and still has room for improvement. I can help him there.
“But it is like this, at the end the player himself must feel when he is ready for the next step. Nobody can decide that for him.”
These comments have added fuel to rumours the player could be heading to Anfield.
Kai Havertz has been linked with a £90m move to Liverpool since the summer transfer window.
The midfielder scored 20 goals in the Bundesliga last season to earn the attention of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are current European champions and must be a preferable destination for any young talent. Another added incentive comes in the form of Reds boss Klopp. Not only is he a compatriot of the player, he is also the best coach in football.
A successful club with a brilliant manager; why wouldn’t Havertz want to come to Anfield in due course?
