Liverpool are nailed on for a comfortable victory at Old Trafford this weekend. The Reds are top of the table by 8 points whilst Man United wallow in 12th place. With the hosts beset with injuries to key players Paul Pogba, David de Gea and Jesse Lingard, a big win is on the cards for Jürgen Klopp’s side. Despite the overwhelming odds, Andy Robertson is taking nothing for granted against Man United.

One glance at each side’s form tells a damning tale for the Lancashire side. Man United’s last win was on the 19th of September when they scraped a 1-0 victory over Kazakhstani side FC Astana. Since their Europa League victory they have lost to West Ham, needed penalties to beat Rochdale, drawn with Arsenal and AZ Alkmaar and lost to Newcastle United. It is not a stretch to say that these are games that, until recently, Man United would have been expected to win.
Robbo is ignoring his opposition’s poor performances. He told the Liverpool FC official site, “I don’t think it matters what your form is like in these games. It doesn’t matter that we’ve won eight on the bounce and they’re struggling”. When it comes to this game, anything can happen, this isn’t lost on the Reds’ left back – he continued, “It’s Man United v Liverpool. It will be a one-off game and we’ll see who comes out on top.”
It is encouraging to see that Andy Robertson isn’t taking anything for granted against Man United on Sunday. The Reds will need to be at their brilliant best in the game because, as Robbo is well aware, form counts for thing in these games.
