It takes more than luck to put together such an impressive winning streak. At the moment, Liverpool have won their last 15 Premier League games, Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United is poised to extend this run to 16 matches. With the Reds always finding enough to get over the line, Jürgen Klopp has revealed how it is that the Reds have approached these 15 wins on the bounce.

Speaking with the Liverpool Echo, in an interview published on the 25th of September 2019, the German gaffer told Paul Gorst: “We don’t think too much about the long term targets, the next game is our final and we play a lot of finals in our season.”
This speaks volumes to how Liverpool have played during their winning streak. The Reds are no longer battering teams with impunity but simply always getting the result. There have been narrow margins of victory during this winning streak and some valiantly fought games, not least the recent win at Stamford Bridge as we beat Chelsea 2-1.
It is easy to implement this sort of mentality as the squad and staff all have a similar attitude, “from a character point of view, we fit really well…we have done really well because we are pretty similar,” Klopp added.
With this attitude that the next game is always a final, we will likely see the Reds take their away trip to MK Dons very seriously. The League Cup is arguably quite low down on our list of priorities but with Klopp at the helm, every game is as important as the last. We’re the record holders after all, what harm could another one do?
