The 20-year-old has had quite a successful career at Liverpool, already gaining a Champions league trophy and a Super Cup. Arguably, Trent can also be considered as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
Is it possible that he could go on to be the best in the world?

In a recent interview, Trent revealed what inspires him to perform at his best. He stated: “The modern day full-back needs to be so attacking, needs to offer a lot to the side, whether that be chances created, assists, passes, through-balls.” (Mirror)
“When I was studying full-backs it was always Philipp Lahm and Dani Alves” (Mirror).
His two idols were world class right-backs for Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Over the course of their careers, they collected numerous accolades; among them are a World Cup, several Champions League titles and a few domestic trophies. They both created a legacy for themselves in history, with Alves gaining 100 assists at Barcelona and Lahm’s 71 assists at Munich.

What of Trent’s legacy?
As I mentioned before, Trent is probably one of the most successful, young players at the moment. With a Super Cup, a Champions League title and him featuring as England’s first choice right-back- he has already achieved what many footballers dream.
His three years at Liverpool have also seen him accrue 22 assists and 19 clean sheets.
However, there is one thing Trent feels he should improve on before he can be considered a great right-back. “There is always space for improvement and room to learn and evolve,” Trent added. “Scoring more goals is something I’d like to improve.” (Mirror).

He may not be up to their level yet, but after that cracking goal against Chelsea- he is on his way.
