Jürgen Klopp has held his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool v Newcastle this weekend and has highlighted the threat that the Magpies pose.

Steve Bruce’s side arrive on Merseyside hotly tipped to be trampled upon by Liverpool, BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson sees the game ending in a comfortable 3-0 win for Liverpool. However, the big German has explained how his side must be wary of the threat that the North East side still pose.

The press conference was broadcast live on LFCTV. Jürgen took the time to discuss Bruce’s impressive win against Tottenham Hotspur toward the start of the season. “Newcastle will fight like crazy, like they did against Tottenham,” the gaffer remarked.

The Geordies were pegged back in their own defensive third for much of the game but they capitalised when they were given the opportunity. Liverpool’s manager feels that their defensive display means that they thoroughly warranted their victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, saying it is “really strange to have 20% something possession and deserve the three points”.

Although the Reds boss is respectful of the threat that the Tyneside outfit pose, he believes that Liverpool still have what it takes to extend their 100% start to the campaign. He did, however, mention that the fans would be key tomorrow.

“If we have the atmosphere we can do something,” he said.

With Newcastle taking four points from their possible first 12 and the Reds having not dropped a single point, Liverpool look set to storm to a routine victory tomorrow.
