One thing that has set the Liverpool squad apart from others in recent seasons has been unity. Jürgen Klopp has instilled a togetherness that makes you believe this team would die for each other on the pitch – an attitude necessary to his pressing philosophy.
This unity does more than make the press more effective, it helps youngsters develop thanks to a closeness within the team. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has impressed Klopp and has revealed how Alisson Becker has made him a better player in the last year.

Caoimhin Kelleher is away with the Republic of Ireland U21s and was full of praise for the Brazilian number one.
“It’s been very good for me (playing with Alisson),” Kelleher told the Liverpool Echo. The Irish international has failed to make a first team appearance for Liverpool thus far but if he continues to learn from Alisson he could be ready to step up for cup games.
“He’ll speak to me on what stuff I can improve on, so it’s been a huge help,” the Irishman added. With Alisson fighting on all fronts for Liverpool and winning a Champions League in the process, it is encouraging that the number one still finds the time to help out youth players.
If Liverpool are to continue their track record for bringing through world beating players from the academy, Trent Alexander-Arnold the latest off the production line, they will need the attitude Alisson is showing. Steven Gerrard won’t hesitate to tell you how important Gary McAllister was to his development – it’s great that Alisson is taking up the mantle.
