Liverpool withdrew their interest in Christian Pulisic giving Chelsea the chance to sign him and now supporters believe the Reds are chasing Timo Werner instead.
After a deal for Nabil Fekir was scuppered last summer, there were major concerns over the Reds’ ability to break down opponents and create the chances required to supply the likes of Mane, Salah and Firmino.
The latter has since been deployed as a no.10 and has aided Liverpool’s ability to create chances against sides that sit deep and try and prevent space and with 48 goals already scored this season, there is no doubt Klopp’s team is firing on all cylinders.
That said, with there no apparent interest in signing a new no.10 or a similarly creative midfielder, supporters believe that Liverpool could be targeting RB Leipzig’s absolutely rapid centre-forward Timo Werner.
One fan on Twitter believes that with Liverpool dubiously passing up on the chance to sign Christian Pulisic for £58million, there must be interest in Timo Werner or another forward player.
The general consensus has been that Werner would be perfect for Liverpool as he has shown at RB Leipzig that he is capable of pressing high up the pitch, has very intelligent movement and is a fine finisher.
Given that he might be available this month for just £36million, Liverpool could boost their bid to win the Premier League for the first time and send a really strong message of intent to their title rivals.
