Reports from Croatia claim that Domagoj Vida could move to Liverpool if the Reds up their bid to €25million after comments made by the player’s agent this week.
Earlier this week, Vida’s agent Ugur Avadan said that Liverpool and Everton had submitted offers for the centre back.
He said: “Liverpool and Everton are huge clubs that have made offers. Barcelona scouted Vida and had him on their shortlist but I do not see a move there happening.
“Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested from Spain.”
Reliable British journalists have rubbished suggestions that Liverpool have bid for Vida or even hold an interest in signing a new centre back this summer.
According to Croatian news outlet Tportal, however, Liverpool have bid for the 29-year-old and if they up their offer from €20million to £25million, they can complete a deal with Besiktas.
Tportal cites British, stating: “English media this Friday argue that the deal is still in sight because Besiktas offered an option which both sides could agree on.”
This deal involves unwanted goalkeeper Simon Mignolet who has been linked with a switch to Turkey and could see a cash plus player deal agreed between Liverpool and Besiktas and, in my view, would see an unneeded goalkeeper off the wage bill and depth added to central defence.
