Domagoj Vida’s agent has confirmed that Liverpool submitted a bid for the defender, with a few other clubs interested, including Everton.
The 2018/19 Premier League season is just 13 days away and clubs are scrambling to ensure that their squads are upgraded to compete with rivals.
Liverpool’s business has been the most noteworthy, with almost £200million spent on Naby Keïta, Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri. In terms of reinforcing weak areas within their squad, the Reds have acted the most efficiently.
Yet, central defence remains an area that is weak as far as strength in depth is concerned as Jöel Matip’s injury against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday proved.
According to reports from Turkey, Liverpool have submitted a €22million bid for Domagoj Vida to Besiktas. The player’s agent Ugur Avadan has confirmed the news, saying that Everton have also bid while Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested.
Avadan said: “It is normal for there to be interest what is important is that the offers satisfy Besiktas and then Vida.
“Liverpool and Everton are huge clubs that have made offers. Barcelona scouted Vida and had him on their shortlist but I do not see a move there happening.
“Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested from Spain.”
