Guinean journalist Amadou Makadji reports that RB Leipzig will find it difficult to reject an €80m bid for Naby Keïta.

Liverpool have reportedly submitted a third and final bid for Naby Keïta worth €80 million as the Reds realise that it’s now or never in their pursuit of the highly talented 22-year-old.

RB Leipzig have frustrated Liverpool twice so far this summer, rejecting two bids worth £57m and £66m.

The German club have defied every attempt from Liverpool to sign Keïta, despite the player being desperate for a move to Anfield.

Today, however, foot224.com journo Amadou Makadji, who has been spot on with everything he has reported about Keïta, claims that the next week will be “decisive” and that RBL will find an £80m offer for the midfielder difficult to resist.

Makadji insists that meetings will take place in the next few days to finalise a deal and that with Liverpool and Keïta piling the pressure on the German side, they’re set to cave under the pressure.

As much as I’d like to believe this is true and there is every possibility that it is, it doesn’t sound like anything we know about Leipzig.

Every report that we have published about Keïta has testified to Leipzig’s resolve being steadfast as far as holding onto their best players is concerned.

For now, I would caution restraint and wait for the next few days to pass and see if Liverpool have a bid for the player accepted.

What do you think? Is RB Leipzig ready to give up and let Naby Keïta join Liverpool this summer?

Just like you, I am a hugely passionate Liverpool supporter. I started Rousing the Kop in January 2015 and since then it has grown tremendously and has even been nominated as 'Best New Football Blog' in the Football Blogging Awards.

  1. If Keita or Van Dijk weren’t to be sold this summer how com they’re not included in new kit launch or on television advert for media company? This tells you everything as these players are there star players!

  2. They dont need to sell anyone but that message could be a problem.. If you are a player who is very good or has potential and rb leipzig bid for you ,then you will think twice about signing any 4-5 year deal. They will not let you go. Also from now on they can only offer massive wages as they have the money. This will go against ffp as they are a small club with little fan base.

  3. 80mil euros does seem too much, however this is a kind of player that is a must in the way Klopp plays in order to push for the title. Keita also being young means bulk of the Liverpool team can play for may years to come. I believe this is part of the thinking and sometimes you need to pay above the scale to achieve your goals. Keita has stamina, pace, strength, vision, which most players in his position do not have. They would lack in one or two areas, I believe despite the cost he would be worth it in the long run.

  4. Lets bid for him, he is Klop choice – tranfer market now is like crazy. Keita and VVD are belong to LFC soon than later.

  5. I think Naby Keita will be a great signing, considering his skills. The chances may be unlikely, but somehow in my opinion, I think he is worth 80 million
