Liverpool have had a €65 million bid rejected for Naby Keïta as the Reds continue to try and sign the Guinean, according to Bild.

Jürgen Klopp is desperate to add Naby Keïta to his side after signing Mohamed Salah from AS Roma last month for £36.9 million.

According to German outlet Bild, Liverpool have had a massive €65 million bid for Keïta rejected as RB Leipzig maintain their hardball stance on their most important player.

Given Liverpool’s significant interest in Keïta, it’s likely that a better offer is being prepared in order to persuade Leipzig to part with their no.8.

According to This is Anfield’s Chris Williams, who has been in contact with Leipzig insiders, a deal for Keïta is believed to be a “formality.”

Klopp has not yet looked at any alternatives for the dynamic midfielder which could indicate that the German is confident that he’ll land his man.

Keïta, who wants the no.8 at Anfield, is a player that will revolutionise the Liverpool midfield and is certain to offer the side more than most of the players on hand already.

Paul Joyce reported that Keïta will need to submit a transfer request to get a move and the player’s agent is good at forcing moves through after getting Sadio Mané his move to Southampton in 2014.

With the transfer window not set to shut until the 1st of September, Liverpool have plenty of time to get a deal done although the longer it takes the less time Keïta will have to get used to his surroundings before the new season.
