It’s been a painstakingly long and drawn out transfer saga but it seems Mohamed Salah’s move to Liverpool could now be just one step from wrapping up.

Honestly, as excited as I am by Mohamed Salah potentially joining Liverpool, this transfer saga has gone on for so long that I’m literally getting bored of writing about him.

Thankfully, however, it seems as if the next article I could be typing up on this matter will be confirmation of him putting pen to paper at the club!

Varying reports circled the internet yesterday claiming that Salah was close to a medical sometime this week, with some going as far as saying that the winger was due to have one on Tuesday and others going completely the other way to deny all of the other claims.

However, it seems that fresh reports stating that the Egyptian is booked in for a day at Melwood on Wednesday have just been potentially confirmed by one of the most unlikely of sources: Egypt Air.

Karim Saeed, a journalist at Egyptian news outlet Yallakora – who have been one of the first to report on many of the developments in the Salah negotiations – tweeted that the player had chosen to wear the No.9 shirt and would arrive at Heathrow via Egypt Air at 9.05pm local time. Saeed then replied to one Liverpool fan confirming a medical set for Wednesday.

Fans were understandably dubious of the ‘announcement’ at first due to the drawn out and seemingly uncertain nature of negotiations between Liverpool and AS Roma so far. However, a tweet posted from Egypt Air’s official Twitter account just moments later seemed to all but confirm the story as factual.

Let’s hope this means that we’ll be seeing the first Melwood lean of the summer at some point this week!

Let us know what you think of Mohamed Salah potentially taking the No.9 jersey at Liverpool down below!
