The latest news, rumours, opinions and updates about Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott from Rousing The Kop. Elliott joined the Anfield natives as a 16-year-old in a contentious transfer from Fulham in July 2019. His switch also set a record for compensation for an academy talent.
Elliott quit Craven Cottage for Anfield once his contract expired. But the Professional Football Compensation Committee made Liverpool pay £1.5m, plus £3m in add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause, in compensation. Elliott made his Liverpool debut in an EFL Cup tie at MK Dons in September 2019.
After winning a raft of trophies with the Reds, including the 2024/25 Premier League, Elliott left on a loan move to Aston Villa on transfer deadline day in September 2025. Though his exit contained an obligation to buy for a reported £35m, Villa boss Unai Emery decided he did want to commit to the clause, restricting Elliott to nine appearances, when 10 would have triggered his permanent sale to the Midlands side.
