Two-thirds of Liverpool’s attack from their 2024/25 Premier League-winning season could be back together this year, but not at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah’s next club is yet to be confirmed after he decided to rip up his contract and leave the Reds on a free.

However, Besiktas are trying to sign Salah amid interest from elsewhere like the Middle East and the MLS.

If the Turkish outfit are successful in their pursuit, then the Egyptian will most likely be linking up with Darwin Nunez again, whom he has previously described as one of his favourite players to play with.

Mohamed Salah loved playing with Darwin Nunez at Liverpool

At Liverpool, the trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah were one of the most deadly attacks in Europe for several years.

But after Firmino and Mane left, Nunez was among the options brought into the front three, and he formed a great connection with Mo.

It has now emerged over the weekend that following a brief spell in the Saudi Pro League, the South American is close to securing a move to Besiktas.

This should please Salah, who has previously said that Nunez was one of his favourite players to play with after Firmino.

Speaking in 2024, the 34-year-old stated: “Who do I most like to play with? It was Firmino. Now I feel like I generally like playing with Nunez.

“A lot of people don’t like him but I like playing with him. I see Bahaa [the man in the video asking the question] keeps shaking his head not liking [Nunez].

“Nah, I like playing with him in general. [Nunez is] a player with different skills. Not a lot of people understand his ball.”

In total, Salah and Nunez have previously played together on 122 occasions across all competitions.

They secured an average of 2.03 points per game in those matches and combined for 18 goals.

Salah only has more joint-goal contributions with the following players: Diogo Jota (19), Trent Alexander-Arnold (19), Cody Gakpo (23), Mane (35), and Firmino (37).
