Liverpool have invested some significant money into bolstering their youth team options this year, with a number of big talents brought in.
Along with centre-backs Mor Talla Ndiaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe, both of whom were signed for seven-figure sums, the Reds are set to confirm the arrival of Colombian Samuel Martinez.
News that Liverpool are targeting Martinez emerged in May, and on Saturday it was confirmed that the 17-year-old is travelling to Merseyside to finalise a £750k move.

As Liverpool cannot sign non-UK based youngsters until they turn 18, though, Martinez will not be able to play immediately. Instead, Reds fans must wait a full year to see the teenager join up.
Martinez will stay at Atletico Nacional for the season
Big things are expected of Martinez, who plays as an attacking midfielder, and as Liverpool do not often take the plunge and sign talented youngsters straight from South America, there is excitement about his arrival.
As The Athletic report, though, it will be a while before fans can see Martinez in action.
They confirm that the Colombia U17s international will remain with Atletico Nacional throughout Liverpool’s 2026/27 season, before arriving next summer.

The Reds will reportedly have ‘input into his development’ during that time, where he will technically be on-loan from Anfield.
And while Martinez is yet to play a first-team game for Atletico, it is reported that Liverpool hope he will be given senior experience while awaiting his move to England.
The forward turns 18 next April, and will reportedly stay in Colombia until pre-season begins for the 2027/28 campaign next July.
