Liverpool striker Alexander Isak is not a concern to miss Saturday’s World Cup match against the Netherlands despite being spotted training alone.
Concern had arisen over Isak, who had terrible luck with injuries during a rotten debut season with the Reds, after he did not join the group for Sweden’s post-match session this midweek.
However, according to Swedish national team press officer Petra Thoren, Isak should be fine to face Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch in Houston.

And what do you think his role will be next season? Is he an immediate starter?
Isak following individual recovery plan
It was a pleasant surprise to see Isak looking sharp once again during Sweden’s thumping World Cup opening win over Tunisia on Sunday.
The 26-year-old scored and registered two assists to kick off the tournament in brilliant fashion, even completing most of the 90 minutes.
That he played so long will have perhaps set some alarm bells off in Liverpool, as will the news that Isak was training alone ahead of meeting the Netherlands.

But as Thoren said via Fotboll Skanlen, Isak was simply following an individualised recovery plan after Sunday’s match. Happily, he should be fit to face Van Dijk and co.
“It’s part of an extra recovery day after the match,” the press officer explained.
Asked whether the session was planned or due to the effects of the Tunisia game, Thoren suggested that while it had not been the intention to have Isak train alone, he is not currently in any danger of missing the Netherlands clash.
“I understand the question given his background, but this is something that is decided day by day.” he said.
Isak will face off against Van Dijk on Saturday evening, with a 6pm kick-off BST.
