Elliot Anderson is among the options mooted for Liverpool as they aim to rebuild their midfield this summer.
Three midfielders could leave Anfield in the 2026 summer transfer window, including Curtis Jones.
Adam Wharton is a ‘dream target’, while Anderson has been linked this season, and he has now shown his appreciation for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

A sour end could be in store…
Elliot Anderson wants to play with Steven Gerrard
Speaking on Stadium Astro’s YouTube channel this week, the Nottingham Forest star was asked: “What, in terms of what sort of qualities, you’re looking for in an ideal midfield partner?”
He responded by saying: “Wow, I’ll go for Steven Gerrard.”
The interviewer then questioned: “Why is that?”
To which Anderson responded: “I just really like the way he played. The energy, his range of passing, and I just think it’d be really nice to play alongside.”
Elliot Anderson’s price-tag
The midfielder has made 49 appearances for Nottingham Forest so far this season, scoring four and assisting five.
Despite the Midlands outfit struggling in the Premier League, Anderson has impressed and has the interest of several clubs.
Manchester City have been named as another suitor for the player, with it said at the time that he is expected to depart the City Ground this summer.
Given what has already happened with Marc Guehi and Antonie Semenyo in 2026, Liverpool fans may fear losing out on another target to the Sky Blues.
But now Pep Guardiola is leaving the club, it remains to be seen if Man City will still have the same pulling power when it comes to signings.
Regardless of where he ends up, though, it is thought a fee of around £90m would be needed for Anderson to move.
Whether Liverpool will have that kind of cash to spend in the upcoming window may well depend on if they secure a Champions League place this weekend.
