Liverpool are reportedly preparing to face the reality of Alisson Becker leaving to join Juventus this summer.

The Reds are currently having to make do without their goalkeeper, who is expected to finally return for Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.

If recent reports are to be believed, then Liverpool will soon have to march on without Alisson on a permanent basis, with Sky Sports reporting that Juve have now made the 33-year-old their top target.

Liverpool exploring options for Alisson replacement

At this stage of his career, and with injuries starting to really become a problem, a move back to Italy would make some sense for Alisson.

As Sky report, Juventus appear ready to go all in on making that happen and will ‘devote significant resources and time’ to get the Brazilian to Turin.

Liverpool are said to be aware of Juve’s plans, and are doing ‘due diligence’ on potential replacements should the need arise.

The likelihood is that these will be back-up goalkeeper targets, with Giorgi Mamardashvili expected to take on the mantle as Liverpool’s number one if Alisson departs.

Liverpool looking at signings in five more positions

As it has been for several years now, this summer has the feeling of being one of real transition for Liverpool.

If Alisson does depart along with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, the curtain will well and truly fall on the best period in the club’s modern history,

Either way, Liverpool seem likely to make plenty of new signings once again, with Sky claiming that both full-back positions, centre-back, defensive midfield and the forward line are all ‘being looked at’.

Clearly, replacing Alisson would be an unwelcome addition to what is already a long shopping list for Liverpool, but if Juventus follow up on their promise to go all in on the veteran – and, crucially, Alisson tells them he wants to go – the Reds are unlikely to stand in his way.

Whatever happens, Ali deserves a full and proper Anfield send-off if he is to leave, which means we could find out either way on this sooner than anticipated.
