As he heads into his final weeks as a Liverpool player, the tributes have been pouring in to hail Mohamed Salah’s career with the Reds.

The Egyptian will bring the curtain down on nine mesmerising years at Anfield on May 24th, on what will be a hugely emotional day on Merseyside.

It will also mark the final moment of Andy Robertson‘s time with Liverpool, having joined alongside Salah in the summer of 2017.

Sharing a decade of success together, Robertson and Salah have become close, and while taking part in an emotional farewell video put together by Sky Sports, the Scot has revealed that his teammate is a lot more mischievous than people might realise.

Robertson says Salah is such a funny character

For anyone playing at Liverpool during the past nine years, the answer to the question of who is the funniest member in the squad has often been Robertson.

But according to the man himself, Salah has a shot at claiming that title, with the 33-year-old described as being ‘one of the funniest characters around the place.’

“A lot of people see how professional he is, how hard working he is and things like that, but I suppose not everyone sees his fun side, or his mischievous side,” Robertson said.

“I think I probably bring the worst out of him in terms of that!

“Look, he’s one of the funniest characters around the place, one of the ones that’s always involved in the trouble and things like that. But when it comes to work, then he’s the model professional.”

Guardiola, Klopp and more pay tribute to Salah

Robertson was far from being the only one to speak in such glowing terms about Salah for Sky Sports.

In what was an amazingly star-studded video, the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Erling Haaland, Eden Hazard, Declan Rice and an array of former and current Liverpool players gave their thoughts on Salah’s time with the Reds.

Guardiola’s segment about Salah being a ‘headache’ to play against brought one of the biggest smiles to his face, while he looked visibly emotional while listening to Klopp.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also featured, with Sky reporter Patrick Davison claiming that the Real Madrid man had been ‘desperate’ to be involved.

It all speaks to just how loved Salah has been by those he has worked with and the respect he has commanded from those unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of his magic.

The beginning of the end of Salah’s time at Liverpool is now upon us, and the reality of his exit is starting to hit home. What a player he has been for the Reds, both on and away from the pitch.
