Alessandro Bastoni has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time now, but FC Barcelona are also in the race.
Rousing The Kop first revealed back in November that Bastoni had been offered to the Reds ahead of a potential move in the summer of 2026.
Since then, Barcelona have shown interest, and Fabrizio Romano has now said that the Spanish club have been in contact with the player’s camp.

FC Barcelona in contact for Alessandro Bastoni
Speaking on his YouTube channel this week, Romano was quick to point out that Barca don’t know how much Inter would actually sell the centre-back for.
However, talks between Bastoni’s representatives and the Spanish side have begun over a potential contract.
He explained: “For Barcelona, there are no doubts about the quality of Alessandro Bastoni as a player after what he’s shown with Inter Milan in recent years.
“For sure, Barcelona want Bastoni. For sure, Barcelona are in contact with Bastoni’s camp. Exchanges on the contract, the salary, have already started.
“But, Barcelona, at this stage, don’t know how much Inter will ask for Alessandro Bastoni in the summer. A club-to-club negotiation has not started yet.”

Alessandro Bastoni transfer value
While Barcelona don’t know how much they might need to pay to sign the centre-back, he is expected to move for a high sum.
Romano previously shared that Inter view the player as ‘crucial’ and would like a large transfer fee to part with the player.
He said: “Inter considers Bastoni a crucial player and not a normal player. So financially, it has to be a record, kind of record deal. Not the most expensive one.
“Obviously, Inter sold Lukaku for, I think, 120 million euros to Chelsea a few years ago. It’s not going to be those numbers. But Inter want Bastoni to be a record sale for example, among defenders, to be a really important.”
Currently, Transfermarkt estimate his transfer value to be €70m, which is around £61m.
