Giorgi Mamardashvili is heading back to Liverpool having completed two matches for Georgia during the March international break.
The goalkeeper has suddenly become a key player for Arne Slot after news of yet another injury for Alisson Becker, and the Reds’ head coach will no doubt be relieved to see him return unscathed.
As he prepares for undoubtedly the biggest week of his Liverpool career, Mamardashvili warmed up with two 90-minute displays which should hopefully get him nicely in the groove.
You can only pick ONE player for Liverpool to sign this summer, who is it?
Who should Richard Hughes be targeting above all…
Mamardashvili keeps Lithuania clean sheet
It is perhaps good timing that Mamardashvili heads into a critical moment in his Liverpool career on the back of an international break.
That has allowed the 25-year-old to get some game time under his belt before facing Manchester City and PSG in the FA Cup and Champions League quarter-finals.
Mamardashvili remains a key player for Georgia, and it was not a surprise to see him feature heavily in their two friendlies against Israel and Lithuania.

There was disappointment against the Israelis, as Georgia blew a two goal lead in the second-half, with Mamardashvili beaten twice within four minutes.
But the Liverpool keeper fared better on Sunday evening, registering a clean sheet to help his country beat Lithuania 2-0.
Mamardashvili faced 10 shots in total from the Lithuanians, with three of those being on target. That he was able to keep a clean sheet should hopefully act as a confidence booster before a pivotal few days.
Alisson could be out for a while, meaning Liverpool will come to rely on their No. 25 during what could still be a special period. Thankfully, he appears ready to do the business for the Reds.
