Liverpool supporters were heard booing their team at the final whistle of their 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Reds put in a decent first-half performance to go in 1-0 up at the break, but, as they often have this season, they disintegrated during the second period, conceding a later equaliser.
Fans were right to be frustrated and, not for the first time this year, they made their feelings heard at full-time. Asked about the Anfield boos post-game, goal scorer Dominik Szoboszlai urged supporters to lend their support in a ‘difficult time’ for Liverpool.

Szoboszlai understands Liverpool boos
Prior to this season, it had not been often at all that boos would ring around Anfield. Sadly for everyone involved, a year of watching turgid Arne Slot football has changed that.
The dissent was loud at the final whistle, and when asked to give his thoughts for Sky Sports, Szoboszlai admitted that although he understands the boos, he would like to hear more support for the champions.
“I didn’t hear the boos, but we can understand them because we are not performing how we should be,” he said.

“But I think they should stand behind us because last season we became Champions four games before the end and everybody was happy. So, support us in a difficult time.
“There is still time to show how much we want it, we have to stick together and fight for the club.”
Liverpool supporters have been behind their team plenty this season, and they have stuck by them through some unusually terrible results.
However, with the slow, predictable style of football continuing week after week, and the team giving up late goals on a game by game basis, there is only so much people can take. The fans will be back in their thousands for Wednesday’s huge Champions League clash with Galatasaray, and Szoboszlai and his teammates had better make sure they serve up something worth cheering for.
