Robert Lewandowski has insisted that Liverpool are still among the favourites to win this season’s Champions League.
The Reds have work to do to make it past the last-16 after losing the first-leg against Galatasaray on Tuesday.
But despite being 1-0 down, and being drawn on the far superior side of the draw, Barcelona striker Lewandowski has claimed that Liverpool are still ‘very strong’ and are one of the best sides left in the competition.

Liverpool fans are desperate to salvage something from this season by going far in Europe, and they face a nervous wait to see whether their team can turn things around against Galatasaray.
Speaking to legendary striker Romario for the Brazilian’s YouTube channel this week, though, Lewandowski suggested that he has more faith in the Reds than some of their own supporters.
“I think that Arsenal, Bayern Munich of course, Liverpool is very strong still I think,” said the Pole.

“Manchester City also, it’s one game against Real Madrid, you never know what will happen.
“All of these big clubs, you can say they’re favourites to win the Champions League.”
It’s notable that Lewandowski does not mention his own team, Barcelona, or current holders PSG among his favourites to be crowned kings of Europe this term.
Liverpool are likely to face PSG if they make it past Galatasaray next week, where Lewandowski’s theory would really be put to the test. For now, the way this season has been going, fans will be sceptical about even making it past Galatasaray.
