Nottingham Forest defender Murillo is reportedly weighing up an exit from the City Ground this summer, with Liverpool keeping an eye on his situation.

The Brazilian has been one of the Premier League’s most eye-catching centre-backs since his arrival at Forest in 2023 and his future looks likely to be spent at one of the continent’s biggest clubs.

Liverpool are potentially in the market for an Ibrahima Konate replacement, and as their current No. 5 continues to discuss terms of a contract extension, the Reds are claimed to be keeping Murillo in mind as a successor.

Murillo would leave if Forest are relegated

Murillo is a big fan favourite at Forest and with the club flying high in the Premier League last season, he signed a new contract until 2029.

However, while that protects his value – which has previously been reported to be rated as much as £70m by Forest – The i Paper claim that the 23-year-old could jump ship if his team are relegated.

Murillo is not said to be ‘agitating’ for a move from the City Ground, but Vangelis Marinakis’ hand could reportedly be forced if Forest go down.

Manchester United are named as potentially the most prominent of suitors for Murillo, but Liverpool are also mentioned alongside Chelsea and Real Madrid as other clubs ‘monitoring’ the centre-back.

Although he is said to be happy at Forest, Murillo’s mind could reportedly be changed if one of these four sides make an approach this summer. Lauded as a ‘super talent’ by former manager Steve Cooper, there is good reason to believe he can make the step up.

Forest are battling hard to stay in the Premier League and currently occupy the final ‘safe’ position in the division.

However, even if Pereira manages to keep them up, Murillo will surely be seen as attainable this summer as he prepares to take the next step in his career. Unfortunately for Forest fans – and perhaps luckily for supporters of Liverpool – the Brazil international looks destined to leave.
