Nathaniel Brown is currently outperforming Milos Kerkez in six different areas in the 2025/26 season.
Despite strengthening their left-back ranks this past summer, Liverpool are now being linked with Brown, who it is thought Eintracht Frankfurt could let go for a fee of around £56m this summer.
Given his potentially high price-tag, it is expected he would be signed as a regular starter, and we have now taken a look at how he compares with the Reds’ current first-choice option, Kerkez.

Nathaniel Brown is outperforming Milos Kerkez in six areas this season
Signed from 1.FC Nuremberg in 2024, the 22-year-old has now played a total of 65 games for the Bundesliga outfit, in which he has scored six and assisted 13.
He has had a particularly fruitful 2025/26 campaign, already notching nine goal contributions and leading Kerkez in six key statistics when comparing both players’ form in their respective leagues this season:

Kerkez has played more minutes (1,960) in the league this season than Brown (1,803), but the Hungarian is creating fewer and has provided fewer assists.
That may be down to a number of factors, including Liverpool’s generally mixed form and Brown being used as a wing-back, as well as a standard full-back, at times this term.
But the Frankfurt star is also proving himself to be a really solid defender, notching more tackles and interceptions this season.

The stats suggest both players do have a similar style of play, and even though Kerkez has improved after a difficult start, it does make sense that Liverpool want to sign a new left-back.
Andy Robertson is out of contract at the end of June and is not expected to sign a new deal.
Kostas Tsimikas will return from his AS Roma loan spell in the summer, but if Liverpool were willing to let him depart on a temporary basis in 2025/26, it’s hard to see them being happy to bring him back into the fold next term.
