Dominik Szoboszlai potentially leaving Liverpool to move to Spanish side Real Madrid has been mooted this week.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Szoboszlai was wanted by Real Madrid along with several other Reds players.
Liverpool have opened contract talks with the Hungarian, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2028.
But his international manager then came out and said Szoboszlai dreams of Real Madrid.
You’re Richard Hughes, how are you responding when Real Madrid call to ask about Szoboszlai?
What price are you quoting?
Further speculation about a potential transfer was fuelled by Vinicius Jr’s comments on the midfielder as well.
Of course, he won’t be leaving Anfield for the next couple of months, but it remains to be seen what will happen in the summer.
Should he move, it’s likely Liverpool would demand a hefty sum to part ways with the player who has been described as the Reds’ best in 2025/26.
Dominik Szoboszlai market value vs Liverpool squad
At present, Transfermarkt give the 25-year-old a market value of €85m, which is around £74m.
Only three players in the Merseyside outfit’s current side are thought to be worth more.
Alexander Isak, who Liverpool paid a British transfer record fee to sign from Newcastle, is valued at €120m.
Florian Wirtz, who was signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £116m, is said to be worth €110m.
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has a current market value of €95m.

Real Madrid’s most expensive signings
Should Szoboszlai move to Real Madrid for somewhere around his £74m valuation, he would be among Los Blancos’ most expensive ever signings.
Eden Hazard currently holds the record, while Jude Bellingham’s move from Borussia Dortmund is the most recent deal to crack the top five.
- Eden Hazard from Chelsea (£150m with add-ons)
- Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund (£115m with add-ons).
- Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur (£85.6m)
- Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United (£80m)
- Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco (£68.3m)
If Szoboszlai were to join, he could quite easily surpass the fee needed for Tchouameni and potentially even better Ronaldo’s sum from nearly two decades ago.
