Not every player reaches their ceiling while playing in the Premier League, but someone Liverpool and Arsenal want has looked reinvigorated in Serie A.
It’s not yet time to start counting down to the transfer window, but you can be sure recruitment staff at every top European club are still working long hours in preparation for the hectic summer period.
Liverpool were dealt a Yan Diomande blow — one of the names most heavily linked to join. Contractual issues have thrown a spanner in the works, and he might not be available to sign until the end of the year.
After hearing of talks between Salah and Al-Ittihad, Liverpool will surely be feeling the urgency.

According to reports in Italy, they have another option in mind.
Christian Pulisic eyed by Liverpool and Arsenal amid contract stall
AC Milan star Christian Pulisic has had a career renaissance of sorts since leaving Stamford Bridge almost three years ago.
His time at Chelsea coincided with a rather turbulent period after the change in ownership, and he never quite hit the heights we were expecting after some really impressive years at Borussia Dortmund.
He was a key player in their 2021 Champions League victory, though.

And now, TuttoMercatoWeb claim interest in Pulisic is coming Liverpool and Arsenal. The American is ‘quite taken aback’ that he has yet to be offered a contract extension, despite goalkeeper Mike Maignan putting pen to paper recently.
The report claims Milan want to keep Pulisic and are expected to come with an offer. The problem is now the interest coming from elsewhere potentially turning his head.
Tottenham and Man United also credited with interest
A separate report from CalcioMercato last week also claimed Man United and Tottenham are interested.
With just over a year on his current deal, he’d be great value.
Pulisic has been brilliant in Italy, hitting 20 goal involvements in back-to-back league campaigns. He’ was on course to do so again this season before a’s on course to come close again this season despite missing time.
This would be a crazy move for any top Premier League side, but not a bad one by any means. He could certainly help Liverpool.
Discuss: Liverpool are worse to watch this season than under Roy Hodgson
While he’s slightly on the older side, he would be a brilliant option to have. It wouldn’t negate the need for a long-term Salah replacement, though.
