Liverpool have a number of top young talents and Trey Nyoni is towards the very top of this list.
The Reds have struggled with squad depth at points this season, with it clear that they need reinforcements in certain areas of the pitch.
This has led to many youth players training with the first-team and sometimes being included on the bench, although Nyoni is one who has been doing this for a little while now.
What should happen to Arne Slot when Liverpool inevitably fail to beat Arsenal❓
At 18, he still has plenty of time to develop, but he has been catching the eye of a number of top clubs, with there being rumours that he could be loaned out in search of some game time.
It appears as if Liverpool have made their minds up about his situation now too, with his future for this season looking like it has been decided for him.
Trey Nyoni will not be loaned out by Liverpool and is set to stay
Nyoni really is an up-and-coming talent in the middle of the park and he could well be a starter for the Reds in the near future, but he will need minutes to prove himself.
However, according to The Athletic, Arne Slot views him as a key part of his plan and he is set to stay at Anfield in January.
This indicates that some minutes will be coming his way very soon, with their FA Cup game against Barnsley being one where he will likely play the full game.
With Wataru Endo injured, he is currently the most likely to get some game time in this position after Ryan Gravenberch, so he might be the backup as early as next season should they move the Japanese international on.
Just like Rio Ngumoha, Nyoni could very well be the future for Liverpool, so sticking around for at least another six months feels like the right decision.
Do you think it’s time for Arne Slot to start trusting Rio Ngumoha more?

Other Liverpool players could be loaned out instead
Liverpool still have many other players who will likely be loaned out due to being a bit further away from the starting XI than Nyoni, with The Athletic revealing who could go.
Calvin Ramsay is said to be attracting interest from Scottish clubs, although only on a temporary basis, while Rhys Williams could finally depart permanently.
The report states that Liverpool intend to assess the loan options available for a number of regular U21 stars too, including Trent Kone-Doherty, Kieran Morrison, Josh Davidson, Tommy Pilling and Terence Miles.
It might not be a busy January for the first-team, but it is set up to be for the academy, so there could be a fair few ins and outs.
