The name Othmane Maamma might not ring a bell for many Liverpool fans right now, but for Watford supporters, they know just how good he really is.
The Moroccan is one of the rising stars of African football, even being voted as the Confederation of African Football’s Young Player of the Year in 2025.
He helped his nation win the U20’s World Cup and was named Player of the Tournament, with the 20-year-old currently at Watford.
But according to TEAMtalk, he might not be there much longer as Liverpool are one of the clubs who have sent scouts to watch him play, alongside both Man United and Newcastle.
He is starting to become a key player under Javi Gracia in the Championship now too, meaning there will be plenty more chances to watch him play, and he might not be too costly either.
He cost just £1m from Montpellier in the summer, meaning Watford will make a hefty profit, although he might still be a bargain given the potential he has.

With this an issue at Anfield so far this season, Maamma might just be the perfect option to bring onto the pitch to make a difference in games, especially if they can get him for cheap.
He might be more of a player for the future, but with uncertainty over the likes of Mohamed Salah, he might just get a bit of time to continue developing first, but it is hard to see him staying in the Championship for too long.
