Liverpool will be aiming to pile on Wolves’ misery when they welcome the Premier League strugglers to Anfield on Saturday.
The Merseyside outfit are unbeaten in their last six matches and could end this week back in the top four ahead of Chelsea.
Liverpool weren’t great against Tottenham last time out, but a win is a win, and another three points this weekend does seem likely.
Standing in their way this weekend are a seriously out-of-form Wolves team, who are yet to pick up a single league victory in 2025/26.

Ahead of the fixture, Wolves boss Rob Edwards has spoken to the media about Liverpool.
The former Middlesbrough manager is expecting a difficult game on December 27 and has praised the Anfield atmosphere.
As per BBC Sport, he said: “Just thinking about the game itself. We’re looking forward to another really difficult game, but going to Anfield is always enjoyable; it’s a real challenge, it’s one of the most difficult ones, but one of the ones you look to.
“It’s always an incredible atmosphere there. It’s just another game, another opportunity for us.”
Edwards also shared a Wolves injury update prior to the fixture getting underway.
Liverpool sold A LOT of players in 2025 – but which one will be their biggest regret, and why?
Wolves injury update before Liverpool
Toti Gomes is set to miss the clash, while Hugo Bueno could be in contention to feature against Liverpool.
Edwards said: “Toti’s a no, he’s out for a significant period of time with his hamstrings, so it’ll be weeks.
“And Hugo [Bueno] trained today so we’ll see how he progresses throughout the next few days, but we’re hopeful for him.”
As for Liverpool, Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez are injured, while Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended for the fixture.
Elsewhere, Cody Gakpo and Conor Bradley each have a 50/50 chance of featuring against the Premier League’s 20th-place team.
If Bradley is not fit, Jeremie Frimpong, who has not started a league match since August, will be the only natural right-back option available to Slot.
