Alexander Isak has picked up a suspected leg fracture during Liverpool’s win over Tottenham.
The Reds may have got the three points at the weekend but it came at quite some cost, with a few stars being forced off with injuries.
Who should replace Alexander Isak in Liverpool’s starting XI?
Arne Slot is running out of options…
The most notable was Isak, with the Reds believing he has suffered a fairly serious injury, although the full extent of the injury is not yet confirmed.
With a fractured leg, players are usually out for a few months, although ex-striker Gabby Agbonlahor reckons he might be out for the season.
Alexander Isak told he could miss the entire season with injury
Isak has had a terrible start to life at Liverpool and simply cannot catch a break, with his goal looking like it could be the start of something big.
But now he can expect to miss even more football, something he really did not need given his battle with fitness at the start of this season.
However, Agbonlahor reckons that he might just have to start fresh next season, believing that this type of injury could rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.
What ONE word sums up Liverpool’s signing of Alexander Isak?
“I don’t think he [Isak] plays again this season,” he said on talkSPORT.
“I just looked at the injury, and I’ve seen that happen before, where his leg got tangled. That’s a broken leg that is.
“That’s a long time out, that is – You don’t always come back the same either.”
Hugo Ekitike can step up for Liverpool
If he has not already, Hugo Ekitike is ready to step up for the Reds in Isak’s absence, with the Frenchman on fire at the moment.
He has scored 11 goals this season, including three in his last two matches, with the 23-year-old showing just how clinical he can be.

His injury record is usually pretty good too and he has hardly missed a game in the last two seasons, something Reds fans will hope can continue.
They have been reliant on him at points already this season, but now he is needed more than ever, although he should be able to step up with no problem whatsoever based on what he has shown so far.
